Scientist, Engineer, Educator

Hello! My name is Art. My full first name is "artit", which is a Sanskrit-derived Thai word meaning the Sun (อาทิตย์). As for my last name, you should think of a unit of measure, like miles per hour. You can say it like a sentence: a wang per a wong.
I care about information technology, health, education and energy. Since my undergraduate years, I have been a part of the Stanford Solar Car Project as well as Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society. I work on education, big data, machine learning, and blockchain. Beyond technology, I believe that the answer to many of our problems lie in people. One of my favorite quotes is from JFK: Our problems are man-made, therefore they may be solved by man. |
A native of California, I also enjoy basketball, hiking, traveling, history, languages and cultures. My native language is English, but I can also speak some Thai, Mandarin, Korean, Cantonese and Teochew. As I am fortunate to have had many great teachers throughout my life, I enjoy teaching and mentoring others whenever possible.
